I have put off purchasing anything until we found out what we were having, pulse I was so miserable it was hard to wrap my mind around anything nursery or baby related. I was just trying to make to the bathroom before I lost my breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
So now here I am searching for the perfect crib. I have been offered one or 2 from friends and family, but there must be something wrong with my brain because I would rather get something else than jump on the FREE wagon. (I’m somewhat mental, I know).
I am really drawn to the dark wood. I guess that is because I grew up on enormous amounts of light oak. I’ve been searching high and low, Overstock, Target, Babie’R'Us, and Craigslist. I’m afraid of making the wrong decision. Here’s what I’ve been looking at so far.
Crib 1:

I like this one, but I am unsure as to how sturdy it is. The wood looks a little on the weak side. (I LOVE THE BEDDING!!)
Crib 2:

I love the style of this one and it has a nice drawer at the bottom for extra storage and possibly looks a bit sturdier.
Crib 3:

This one is nice, but I am wondering of the bar in front will dig into my receding belly when I go to bend over it.
What say you?
As far as colors go, I know I want GREENs and tan/brown and possibly light blue (but not an exorbitant amount, blue is not really my favorite color). I am also not big on themes as far as jungle, sailor, teddy bear, blah blah blah. What if the boy grows up and doesn’t like boats or safari animals? I’m not going to waste my time decorating with that stuff only to replace it with planes, trains, and automobiles. He will however love GREEN. That is non-negotiable. ;)

i LOVE the bedding on crib one too! very cute!
we should really do some shopping together! SOON!
We have a crib like the second one. The extra drawer is awesome to store blankets and stuff in
Just noticing that number 2 has pointy edges, and having just ran into the pointy edge of my bed yesterday, I would advise against!
Oh, the other thing is, these all seem really low to the ground, I would think that leaning over that much to pick them up all the time is going to kill your back. Maybe that is just the new thing, but I remember the cribs we had being a lot taller. Course, since your having a boy he will probably be climbing out of the thing all the time, so maybe it is better having it low to the ground. I know, I know, now I’ve given you one more thing to worry about.
