Surgical Gloves + 4 Day Weekend = Thanksgiving
November 26, 2007 by Kaydee
Late Happy Thanksgiving to all! I hope that your long weekend was as enjoyable as ours.
It started on Wednesday. I volunteered to do the turkey this year. Having never done one before and didn’t trust my old oven, I ventured over to the mother units house for some memory making. We sterilized the sink and plopped the 20 pounder in for it’s baptism. Everything was going great until I reached in the butt to pull out the bag of useless items and everything fell out inside the turkey. Man or man. I was not going to touch those. So out came the surgical gloves for me to wear and the turkey enema continued. After the baptism, the turkey was filled with onions, an orange, an apple, anointed with olive oil and seasoning, and thrown into the fiery furnace. Four hours later out came a beautiful golden, not burnt, offering for Thanksgiving.
(Had I remembered to bring my camera, I would be inserting a picture here.)
Thanksgiving was at my Aunt Diane’s house. Since we were a smaller group this year we did a casual feast. It was potluck style with paper plates. It was the best meal. Mmmm’s and Awww’s were heard throughout the house. My favorite was my Aunt Marla’s mashed potatoes. Oh man they are to die for. After dinner we did our ritual “toot” walk. That’s right. Some of us venture out in the cold to fart off the dinner to make room for dessert. It really does help. You should try it. For dessert is was creamy pumpkin pie and deep dish apple crisp provided by my grandma. Yummy yum yum!
Friday we convened at my grandparents condo club house for leftover turkey sandwiches and lots of games. My new favorite game is Think Blot. I had never heard of it before and it was so fun. Of course we forgot to do our “toot” walk, so by the end of the night we were on the floor with our butts in the air in hopes that the gas would rise and relieve our pain.

Saturday I had to work since I put my Wednesday work on hold. Sunday I started feeling like I was coming down with a cold. So it was a day to be lazy and hopped up on cold medicine, herbal tea, Air Born, and cranberry juice for a funny feeling I have had in my bladder since I went for my “oil and lube”. I knew doctors were evil. ![]()

“Oil and Lube” … is that what the turkey had?
