Dog Sitting
August 29, 2007 by Kaydee

This is Brandy (my grandma thinks her name should have been Veronica Lake because of her long eye lashes). We have been dog sitting her for the last 2 weeks. I think that she is just the cutest cocker around.
Brandy was a stray dog who was found in Oregon by the daughter of a family friend, Michele. She gave her to her mom as she already had a dog and the 2 dogs were not getting along. So Brandy made her way to Washington. My mom and I were visiting Michele and we fell in love with Brandy. So the 3 of us devised a plan that Michele would come visit us and bring Brandy with her and my dad would see what a cute and loving dog she was and he would let us keep her. So Michele came and the plan was put into motion. My dad ended up taking her for a walk and that was that. She was ours. When Michele left, Brandy didn’t even bother to follow her out to the car. She was staying. Brandy is what you would call a “co-dependent” dog. It doesn’t matter who the “co” is, just as long as that “co” is touching her. Well I eventually left home and couldn’t take Brandy with me so she stayed with my parents. My parents have been in a remodeling project on their house which included new carpet and the day Brandy dragged her poopy butt on my mom’s new carpet that was it. She was shipped off to live with a family from church who wanted a dog. Poor Brandy. Well, she comes to visit us every now and then when that family goes on vacation.
While she has been here, she has been doing a lot of this…

And a lot of this…

And a whole lot of disgusting, can’t catch a breath of fresh air, make you drop dead where you are smells have come out of this…

But we still love her. ![]()

Your Dad and I laughed out loud. Yes, she is very needy but she really doesn’t care who takes care of her as long as someone touches her. Your pictures were great. Loved the one with the sun glasses. How did you get her to pose for that one? I guess she was too busy eating.
Keep writing. We love to read your writing.
Love you much,
Mom
